Nepal cricket Team Eyes T20 World Cup Spot
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2025 is a crucial tournament for Nepal, as it presents a clear pathway to qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Training at the BCCI’s state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence will allow Nepali cricketers to access elite coaching, advanced fitness regimes, and match simulation sessions under world-class infrastructure—conditions similar to those they will face in the qualifiers.
20 Nepali Cricketers Already in Bengaluru for NCA Camp
Ahead of the main training session, 20 players from Nepal have already begun training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The NCA camp, which runs from July 21 to August 3, is designed to provide young and emerging cricketers with focused skill development, strength training, and mental conditioning. The camp is being facilitated by top Indian cricket trainers and coaches, in collaboration with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
CAN: “International Exposure is Key to Growth”
Speaking on the development, a senior official from the Cricket Association of Nepal stated:“This training opportunity at the BCCI Centre of Excellence is a major step in our long-term development strategy. It not only provides our players with world-class facilities but also prepares them mentally and technically for high-pressure matches on international turf.”
Nepal cricket Team to the ICC T20 World Cup 2026
Nepal is among several Asian teams competing for a limited number of slots in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers. With strong competition expected from countries like UAE, Oman, Hong Kong, and others, the need for structured preparation and professional training has never been greater.
Nepal’s squad will look to build on its recent performances in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 and tri-nation series in Scotland. The team is aiming to not just qualify but make a strong impact at the global level.
